OEPS 2014

The 2013 season is always over and the schedule for 2014 is finally set!
In 2014 we will be visiting 4 venues instead of 3. We are returning to our international roots and thus we will go outside of Germany again, and that is, to Spain!
The dates are:
21-23 March Trier - Germany
25-27 April Igualada – Spain
12-14 September Moers – Germany
31okt – 2nov Swisstal – Germany
Very soon we will follow up with information on how to arrive in the Icar Indoor Slotracing Center in Spain.
Changes for the 2014 season:
Points system:
Each class will be scored separately:
LMP1:
1st place 40points
2nd place 37points
3rd place 34 points etc.
LMP2:
1st place 40points
2nd place 37points
3rd place 34 points etc
GT:
1st place 40points
2nd place 37points
3rd place 34 points etc
Only 3 out of 4 races will count for the championship but the teams that enter all 4 races will receive an extra 5 points.
Example:
Team X has scored 37 – 34 – 25 – 37 points in the races. Race 3 (25points) was their lowest result and will not count. Thus: 37 – 34 – 37 = 108 championship points. And because Team X has been to all the races, they will receive an extra 5 points. 113 points is their definitve championship score.
Oil:
During the handout, warmup, qualifying and race there is no more oil allowed other then that specifically authorized by the organisation.
Parc Ferme:
No team is allowed to touch their car during warmup. During the warmup the organisation will make sure there are enough officials present to clean the tyres during the warmup. No other work is allowed. No fixing of spoilers, no oiling, no braid cleaning, no nothing J
Warmup is only allowed to ‘warm up’ the tyres and track. Not to work on the cars.
Controllers:
During the 2014 season only a restricted number of controllers will be allowed.
These controllers can not be modified in form or function in comparison to the company specifications.
A more precise ruling will follow very shortly.
If during the race the suspicion rises that a controller might not be standard the organisation has the right to ask it’s user to open the controller and exclude it for the remainder of the race, regardless of the presumed (dis)advantage of said controller.
Penalties:
Some current penalties will be adjusted to better suit the infringement, and other penalties will be added. For example for touching the car during parc ferme, working on cars during lane changes, being too low or underweight etc.
The exact penalty sheets will follow shortly.
As always, the teams that want to enter the same car in 2014 as in 2013, will have one week to enter this car, and only this car. After that everybody is free to sign up with any car they want.
These dates will also follow very shortly.
We hope to see as many teams on the 2014 grids as we did last year. The OEPS is continuing to grow and expanding it’s international interest. The group of friends all practising this hobby at the highest possible level is becoming ever larger and divers. The cars are becoming ever more beautiful and faster.
In 2014 there will be new challenges, new tracks and new people to meet.
